The Des Moines group met on Wednesday Sept. 24 at the ISU Extension office with 11 people attending to hear Jamie talk about getting our ponds ready for winter. As always it was an interesting and informative meeting and we wish to thank Jamie for taking time from his evening to come to Des Moines and give us lots of good advice!
We will be working on a speaker for the October and November meetings which will be at the Extension office on the fourth Tuesdays at 7 PM. (No December meeting) We are hoping to get speakers on landscape lighting and pond design. We also want to elect some new officers for the group so if you're interested in helping, please let us know.
The 2004 Pond Tour committee has begun meeting and we are interested in knowing of anyone in the Des Moines group that would like to help. The date of the tour is July 18 and 19 with the 19th being the day for the Des Moines/Indianola tour. Please let John Selin, 961-2831, or Carol Culmer, 277-0509, know if you want to be involved.

The Top of Iowa Water Garden Association will meet October 20 at 7:00 p.m. at the ISU Extension Office in Mason City. The office is located at: 2023 South Federal. Please use the Northeast door.
