Due to the growing size and range of our membership, we are excited to be able to now offer the opportunity for members to also be part of a chapter of CIWGA in their area. In addition to the parent organization of CIWGA, members may choose to be part of a local chapter as well. These chapters will have their own officers and meetings. We currently have chapters in Polk and Cerro Gordo County. Everyone is a member of the Story County chapter; you may choose a local chapter as well at no additional charge.
This section of the newsletter will have the news from these new chapters. If you are interested in being a part of one of these chapters, contact Doug Rieck (Polk County) at 1315 SW Broad, Des Moines, 50315, drgardener@aol.com; or Ed Schroeder (Cerro Gordo) at 2585 Oak Avenue, Garner, 50438. If you would like to start a chapter of CIWGA in your area, make a list of CIWGA members you know are interested, designate the officers of your chapter (at least three are recommended, one being the treasurer), and then send this information to our membership coordinators: Greg and Carolyn Knop, 911 South 12th Street, Nevada, IA 50201. Your CIWGA dues will be allocated between the organizations to cover servicing your membership.
